From the very beginning, Sinopec has remained committed to matters of national significance, upholding its purpose of "Building China into a Powerful Country and Revitalizing the Petrochemical Industry" and its mission of "Better Energy for Better Living". All of its actions and initiatives have been closely aligned with the overarching goals of building China into a major power and realizing the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation, making significant contributions to the country's economic and social development. In particular, as China enters a new stage of development, Sinopec has thoroughly studied, resolutely upheld, and actively implemented Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, playing a role in supporting the Party and the country by safeguarding national energy security, building a modernized industrial system, and achieving high-level self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology. It has continued to explore a path toward petrochemical modernization with Chinese characteristics, with the aim of better serving national strategies.

Recognizing hydrogen energy as the most promising form of secondary clean energy and a key driver of new energy growth, Sinopec has pursued the strategy of "leading in hydrogen refueling and demonstrating green hydrogen utilization to support carbon reduction", focusing on hydrogen mobility and the application of green hydrogen in refining processes, vigorously developing integrated hydrogen energy operations and promoting green transformation and development. In this regard, Sinopec has achieved breakthroughs in multiple areas, including green hydrogen production powered by green electricity, hydrogen refueling stations, hydrogen fuel cells, and hydrogen storage materials. Furthermore, the Company has established a complete hydrogen energy industry chain covering production, storage, transportation, processing, utilization, and research, and is actively working to build itself into China's leading hydrogen energy company, aiming to further lead, promote, support, and serve the development of a modern hydrogen energy industry chain in China.

CCUS is a key technology for reducing carbon emissions and is widely regarded as a key enabler of carbon neutrality. In October 2021, during an inspection visit to Shengli Oilfield, General Secretary Xi Jinping was briefed on the field's CCUS implementation and progress in research and application, and highlighted the importance of pooling resources to achieve breakthroughs in core technologies across key sectors, accelerating the clean and efficient development and use of energy, and improving energy supply quality, utilization efficiency, and carbon reduction performance. In 2024, on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 4th anniversary of China's pledge to peak carbon emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, General Secretary Xi Jinping sent a message of encouragement to Sinopec's project team. He reaffirmed his recognition of its efforts and provided important guidance, offering a clearer direction for green and low-carbon development. In response, Sinopec has kept key directives firmly in mind, forging ahead with gratitude. The Company has since worked to deliver high-quality CCUS outcomes through practical efforts, while exploring new pathways for carbon reduction and storage that give equal emphasis to green and low-carbon transformation and development.

In his report to the 20th CPC National Congress, General Secretary Xi Jinping highlighted the need to "accelerate the development of the digital economy and further integrate it with the real economy". In response, Sinopec has actively embraced the momentum of digital economic development, forging new paths in the new economy and laying a strategic foundation for the new development. Leveraging its robust industrial chain, the Company has taken procurement and supply chain management as a starting point, focusing on user demands and strengthening its capabilities in material procurement. Sinopec has also made all-out efforts in promoting internet-based innovations in supply chain management, working to build EPEC—its e-commerce platform for industrial products—into a key driver of China's modern economic system.

With its vibrant rainbow exterior and eye-catching double-decker design equipped with advanced ophthalmology equipment, the Lifeline Express operates as a mobile hospital, delivering surgical services directly to those in need. Sinopec has been a key supporter of this initiative through its Sinopec Lifeline Express program, which is dedicated to eliminating preventable blindness and strengthening eye care services at the grassroots level. By bringing cutting-edge medical resources to underserved areas, the Company has continued to deliver high-quality healthcare to local communities, restoring sight and hope to cataract patients in disadvantaged regions. For 19 consecutive years, the program has received the Special Award for Brightness Merit, and has been honored by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and the SASAC as both the "Best Volunteer Service Program in China" and the "Excellent Volunteer Service Program of Central State-Owned Enterprises".

A strong rural education system is critical to the successful implementation of the rural revitalization strategy. To this end, Sinopec has actively implemented the guiding principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping's key directives on advancing the rural revitalization strategy and making solid progress toward building China into a leading country in education. With a focus on "cultivating talent for the Party and the nation", the Company has set a clear objective to "run quality schools near people's homes" for its assistance efforts, and developed a group-based, multi-tiered model for paired educational assistance. To date, Sinopec has invested a total of CNY 500 million to support the construction of more than 300 primary and secondary schools, enhancing educational facilities and improving teaching quality. These efforts are ensuring that children in rural areas not only have access to schooling but receive a high-quality education, illuminating the path for rural revitalization through education.

Southeast Asia shares strong ties with China, with the ten ASEAN member countries in particular enjoying long-standing friendly relations. With strong development potential and significant demand for petroleum and petrochemical products, the region is highly aligned with Sinopec's core business capabilities, representing a key market in the Company's global strategy across refining, chemicals, and marketing, and stands as one of the three major business hubs in Sinopec's strategic layout. In recent years, Sinopec has strengthened its planning in global positioning, leveraging the BRI to deepen energy cooperation across Southeast Asia. The Company has also accelerated the development of cooperation models spanning exploration and development, refining and processing, storage and trading, and green energy. Through these efforts, Sinopec is actively shaping a new framework for diversified, cross-regional energy connectivity.
