Sinopec upholds the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, responding to societal needs by focusing on people's wellbeing and establishing the core values of its "You're the Most Beautiful" program. The initiative supports outdoor workers, youth, educators, patients in need, healthy individuals, low-income individuals, and other vulnerable groups, while also promoting environmental protection. Through projects centered on wellbeing support, youth development, health protection, green initiatives, and rural revitalization, Sinopec strives to meet the public's aspirations for a better life through tangible actions.

Wellbeing support programs

"Gas Station That Cares—A Better Road Home" public welfare initiative

In January 2024, Sinopec launched the "Gas Station That Cares—A Better Road Home" public welfare initiative for the 12th consecutive year, supporting migrant workers returning home during the Spring Festival. This year, the initiative was comprehensively upgraded to achieve the "Five Firsts", making homebound travel even more comfortable. During the Spring Festival, the initiative served over 30 million homebound travelers, involving more than 7,800 volunteers. The topic "netizens capture photos of homebound travelers on motorcycles" became a trending topic on Baidu, further enhancing the initiative's brand visibility and impact.

Since its launch, the "Gas Station That Cares—A Better Road Home" public welfare initiative has provided free fuel, rest stops, and other services to over 4.58 million motorcycle riders and 57.8 million migrant workers returning home during the Spring Festival, supported by a total of more than 53,000 volunteers. Over the years, the initiative has developed into a nationally recognized public welfare brand and has received numerous international and domestic awards, such as the Corporate Social Responsibility Gold Awards for Global Brand and Reputation and for Outstanding Achievement, the Gold Standard Award for Corporate Citizenship, the "Outstanding Volunteer Project of Central Enterprises" from the SASAC of the State Council, the "Silver Award in the National Youth Volunteer Service Competition" from the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, and the "Public Welfare Model · Popular Project Award".

        

Driver's Home

Sinopec's "Driver's Home" program is dedicated to providing truck drivers with safe, comfortable, and secure parking facilities. In 2023, Sinopec enhanced the program by implementing the “2 + 7 + X” service standards to create clean, organized, comfortable, and independent rest areas for truck drivers. The Company also optimized program operations and introduced heart-warming supportive services, such as the "Diesel (LNG) Refueling and Free Warm Meals" initiative, while Sinopec Zhenhai Refining & Chemical established the first "Driver's Home" within its network. Furthermore, Sinnopec introduced the innovative "Gas Stations Offering Oxygen Supply Service", building 118 such stations across six high-altitude provinces to address the oxygen needs of drivers and passengers, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment. By the end of 2023, Sinopec had established 4,098 "Driver's Homes" nationwide, providing truck drivers with a one-stop, comfortable, and convenient rest space.

Love Station

Adhering to General Secretary Xi Jinping's key directives on protecting the rights and interests of workers in new employment sectors, and leveraging its energy service station network, Sinopec has focused on supporting outdoor workers, including sanitation workers, food delivery personnel, couriers, taxi drivers, and truck drivers. The Company has actively promoted the establishment of "Love Station" to provide a wide range of convenient "7+X" services and partnered with Baidu Maps to improve accessibility for outdoor workers. By the end of 2023, a total of 6,033 "Love Stations" had been built across 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities. Of these, 52 were recognized as the "Most Beautiful Outdoor Worker Service Stations of the Trade Union".

Health protection programs

Sinopec Lifeline Express

In 2004, Sinopec joined the Lifeline Express Program and officially established a long-term partnership with the initiative. In 2023, the Sinopec Lifeline Express was unveiled in Bayingolin, Xinjiang, Jincheng, Shanxi, and Shaoguan, Guangdong, offering free cataract surgeries to 3,483 low-income patients and funding the establishment of two cataract treatment centers in Linyi, Shandong, and Huangshi, Hubei, creating a "fast track" to healthcare for local communities.

Over the past 20 years, the Sinopec Lifeline Express has donated a total of RMB 200 million, providing free cataract surgeries for over 56,000 low-income patients across 47 regions in 18 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities. It has also established 26 cataract treatment centers and trained local cataract surgeons, significantly advancing regional ophthalmic healthcare services. Furthermore, this program has engaged more than 9,000 youth volunteers, contributing a total of over 320,000 service hours. Employees at energy service stations have also become "Brightness Messengers", supporting the initiative. The program has won the Special Award for Brightness Merit for 18 consecutive years and has been recognized as the "Best Volunteer Service Program in China" by the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the CPC and the "Excellent Volunteer Service Program of Central Enterprises" by the SASAC of the State Council, strengthening its reputation as a model enterprise serving both the Party and the people through tangible contributions.

Growth support programs

"You're the Most Beautiful" Junior Development Subsidy Scheme

In August 2021, Sinopec partnered with the Hong Kong New Home Association to launch the "You're the Most Beautiful" Junior Development Subsidy Scheme, aimed at supporting the development of local youth. The program provides tutoring and enrichment courses in mathematics, English, and Chinese, along with Pipa music classes and STEM activities to help children build various skills. Participants can also join self-improvement day camps and mentorship sessions to promote personal growth, broaden horizons, and strengthen resilience. Therefore, this program has been well received across various communities and has been listed as one of the "Top 10 Community Care Programs by Chinese Enterprises" by the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association.

In September 2023, Sinopec launched the third phase of the "You're the Most Beautiful" Junior Development Subsidy Scheme in Hong Kong, extending ongoing academic support, skill development, family support, and parent-child counseling to over 200 teenagers and children from subdivided flats and underprivileged families. The program aims to improve their learning capabilities and address generational gaps in Hong Kong society.

Micro Hope Plan

In May 2023, Easy Joy launched the "Micro Hope Plan" in Dongxiang, Gansu, and introduced the "Searching for 100 Outstanding Rural Teachers" initiative, which brought 100 teachers from rural western mountainous areas to the Asian Games, offering them greater opportunities. Furthermore, Sinopec has assisted the Petrochemical Easy Joy Primary School in Dongxiang County and invited Olympic champions to deliver special charity classes, transforming the Company's commitment to students into a source of encouragement for rural revitalization. As part of the "Micro Hope Plan", Sinopec has set up Micro Hope Charity Product Zones in nearly 2,000 Easy Joy stores nationwide, aiming to raise over RMB 1 million through charity product sales. Additionally, the "Micro Hope Plan Charity Platform" was launched, evolving the initiative into a sustainable public welfare platform accessible to all.

In the past three years, the public welfare activities of "Micro Hope Plan" have been continuously enriched the connotation, constantly innovated measures, and the public welfare achievements have been deposited, gathering little bits of light and transmitting infinite power. In 2023, it was selected as the excellent case of China Broadcasting Innovation Fund Partner and the top ten Chinese Public welfare projects in 2023.

Green ecology programs

"Internet + Voluntary Tree Planting" initiative

In 2023, Sinopec launched the "I Plant Trees in the Snowy Plateau" program, marking its second "Internet + Voluntary Tree Planting" initiative. With a total investment of about RMB 30 million and a planned fundraising target of RMB 15 million from 2023 to 2027, the program focuses on areas along both banks of the main and tributary rivers of the Lhasa River in Xizang, as well as the designated greening areas of the northern and southern mountains of Lhasa. As an essential part of the region's integrated ecosystem management for mountains, water, forests, fields, lakes, grasslands, and glaciers, it plays a vital role in water conservation, soil preservation, and ensuring regional ecological security. Adhering to the principle of combining artificial and natural restoration to establish an ecological protection system primarily composed of forest and grassland vegetation, the project plans to plant tree species such as mountain apricot and Chinese pine in areas below 3,900 meters above sea level, and shrub species such as Hippophae gyantsensis in areas above 3,900 meters.

Science education and public charity exhibitions

In July 2023, the interactive science exhibition themed "A Wonderful Journey of a Drop of Oil" was launched by Sinopec and the China Science and Technology Museum, under the guidance of the SASAC of the State Council and the China Association for Science and Technology. Using the journey of a single drop of oil, the exhibition showcased key innovations and advancements across the entire petrochemical industry chain, as well as emerging energy sectors such as hydrogen and geothermal energy, aiming to educate the public on energy science and promote green development.
