Sinopec has actively engaged in various social initiatives, including disaster relief, support for major events, and assistance for farmers during peak agricultural seasons, while continuously improving its youth volunteer programs, aiming to be an advocate of high moral standards, a promoter of social civility, and a creator of a better quality of life, thereby making significant contributions to broader social development.

Supporting major events

Sinopec made every effort to ensure the supply of oil products and services for major national events, including the Two Sessions, the 31st FISU World University Games, and the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, successfully fulfilling these responsibilities with high standards of quality and efficiency throughout the year.

Disaster relief efforts

During the summer and autumn of 2023, in response to continuous flooding and geological disasters in the Yongding River Basin in Beijing and Hebei, Sinopec coordinated its affiliated enterprises, including Beijing Petroleum, Hebei Petroleum, and Tianjin Petroleum, to fully support flood prevention and disaster relief efforts, ensuring fuel supply for emergency vehicles and maintaining the availability of oil products and daily necessities throughout this critical period.

Following the earthquakes in Gansu and Qinghai, Sinopec promptly donated RMB 30 million to the local Red Cross to support the livelihood of affected communities. In response to the severe drought in Gansu, Sinopec acted swiftly in accordance with directives from the SASAC of the State Council and donated RMB 18.42 million to the Jinchang Civil Affairs Bureau to ensure agricultural irrigation and emergency water supply in the impacted areas.

Assisting farmers during peak agricultural seasons

In view of the high demand for agricultural oil during peak periods of har vest, planting, and crop management in summer and autumn, Sinopec has fully utilized its refined oil supply network to continually strengthen oil supply security and provide targeted support to farmers. In the summer of 2023, the Company set up a total of 11,000 oil supply stations and 16,000 green channels, serving 4.8 million agricultural machinery users, resulting in a 10% year-on-year increase in oil supply, thereby effectively supporting a successful summer grain harvest.

Sinopec supplied oil to rural areas to support harvest, planting, and crop management during the summer season.

Promoting legal awareness in society

Sinopec has actively explored new hotspots in legal awareness by organizing monthly law forums that address key legislative and judicial hot topics, prioritizing and implementing the Yangtze River Protection Law, and conducting in-depth analyses of regulations on environmental protection, carbon peaking, and carbon neutrality. For 12 consecutive years, the Company has also supported the China Legal Aid Foundation's "1+1" legal assistance volunteer program, benefitting over 80,000 people in underdeveloped areas of central and western China.

Volunteer services

Sinopec has taken a solid step forward in building a structured system, operational mechanism, and brand identity for its youth volunteer services. The Company has issued the Notice on Further Strengthening and Standardizing Youth Volunteer Services, widely recruiting its young employees to formally register through the "Volunteer China" platform. This initiative has mobilized team members to actively organize and participate in a wide range of volunteer activities. Since the Sinopec Youth Volunteer Service Team was established three years ago, more than 3,500 youth volunteer teams and 90,000 young volunteers have participated, setting a new benchmark for volunteer services in the new era through their practical actions.

In 2023, Sinopec's youth volunteer services engaged 96,000 participants. During the annual national selection of the "Four 100s" advanced models of Lei Feng volunteer services, which honors the 100 most beautiful volunteers, 100 best volunteer service organizations, 100 best volunteer service programs, and 100 most beautiful volunteer service communities, Shanghai Petrochemical's "Mantianxing" Volunteer Service Team was selected as one of the best volunteer service organizations, while Sinopec Jiujiang Company's "Xinyuxin" Volunteer Service Program, supporting children with autism, was selected as one of the best volunteer service programs.

Sinopec joined the "Step-by-Step Kindness" public welfare event for the first time, integrating its "Love to Run" brand into the initiative. "Love to Run Gas Station" interactive booths were set up at the main venues to support and cheer on the participants.
