The final selection of “Searching for Young Cultural Ambassadors in China and Algeria” was held in Algiers, Algeria, on November 10th. Sponsored by Sinopec, the event aimed to tell the story of China-Algeria cooperation from the perspective of youth. Five young participants were awarded the title of “China-Algeria Young Cultural Ambassadors”.

This event represented a concrete practice of implementing the initiative on youth development, one of the “Eight Major Common Actions” proposed by China at the first China-Arab States Summit in 2022.

The ceremony was attended by officials from Algerian government, associations, enterprises and universities, the Chinese Embassy in Algeria, as well as youth representatives, scholars and media reporters. Smail Debeche, President of the Algeria-China Friendship Association stated that the event served as a bridge of communication between the youth of the two countries, further promoting friendship and strengthening consensus among the younger generation.
